Genital Whitening

The darkening in the genital area can occur due to pregnancy, postpartum changes, contraceptive pill usage, polycystic ovary syndrome, and some hormonal issues. These discolorations may cause aesthetic discomfort to individuals. In such cases, a genital whitening procedure using laser treatment can be applied. It is essential to note that before undergoing the procedure, the factors causing the darkening should be addressed.

In the laser genital whitening procedure, cells producing melanin pigment in the darkened areas are eliminated. The treatment usually takes around half an hour, and anesthetic cream is used to mitigate pain and discomfort. Fractional carbon dioxide (CO2) and erbium YAG lasers are employed for this treatment.

There are no identified side effects of this treatment method. However, skin burning may occur with high-dose laser application. Therefore, it is crucial for this procedure to be performed by experts. After the procedure, sexual activity should be avoided for 3-4 days, and prescribed creams should be used regularly.
